This part of a vehicle may not be what you were expecting us to address right off the bat, but it has a noteworthy feature in the Escalade as it offers something you won’t find anywhere else: refrigeration.

Yes, you did read that correctly. The 2024 Escalade offers a small refrigeration compartment built within reach right between the driver and passenger seats. With space to hold up to six 24-ounce bottles or any variety of food items, this refrigerator can provide temperatures ranging from 41 to 23 degrees Fahrenheit, meaning it can also be a freezer! So, if you have a long drive ahead and some frozen goods, the Escalade will make sure they stay frozen.

Now, even if you don’t have frozen goods to keep cold, having sufficient cargo capacity is a key part of any SUV’s habitability. If you’re taking care of house projects or going on road trips, you need to make sure that your vehicle can support your cargo. While the Grand Wagoneer offers a generous maximum cargo capacity of 94.2 cu.ft., the Escalade has the same amount in its original body, but it can far exceed that in the extended body—the Escalade ESV—with a maximum cargo capacity of 121 cu.ft. That almost-30-cu.ft. difference will be significantly felt by anybody trying to maximize storage space.

The Grand Wagoneer offers an impressive 3.0-liter turbocharged engine, making it capable of offering 510 hp and 500 lb-ft of torque. Those specs are not easy to come by, and truthfully, even most full-size pickup trucks don’t achieve specs like that.

That may seem hard to beat, but somehow, the Escalade finds a way. One of its engine options, the 6.2-liter supercharged V8, provides a whopping 682 hp and 653 lb-ft of torque. Those specs are essentially unheard of in the SUV segment, and the combination of such performance thrills with the Escalade’s incomparable luxury features will truly be a driving experience nobody will ever forget.

You don’t have to be a performance-oriented driver to know that the Escalade has an advantage with these impressive specs—and even if you never floor the gas pedal, the obvious strength of the Escalade’s supercharged engine will be felt in every minute of your daily driving.

It’s clear the Escalade has an advantage when it comes to habitability and performance, hence why it’s likely a better choice for most drivers.
